The truth twists,
Coiled in flicker of the tongue
Through waning light in wick of words,
With embers of lies smoldering in hot wax
Stumbling through the salt beds
and tossing in the tide
The truth just hangs in reels of waves,
Twining in the break of sea-hatched lies
With flesh unbuttoned
and ears unwrinkled in cackles that bloom
I slip on the truth,
scraping down the chalkboard static
The truth tasseled
In linen roses that lay around me in plush petals
Fist with a crown of thorns
Scrawl and drive in with lies
lathered in boughs of holly
In shadow-coated caverns
The truth snaps in break of light,
Hiding deep in the scaffo
